We are an international organization whose members work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. Over 75,000 Soroptimists in 122 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects that benefit women and girls.

The name Soroptimist means “best for women". That is what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women and men at their best, working to help other women be their best. Soroptimist members belong to local clubs, which deliver the Dream Programs of Soroptimist International of the Americas to their communities.

Eastern Canada Region supports the Dream Programs of Soroptimist International of the Americas:

• Dream It, Be It ...career support for Girls (career opportunities, setting and achieving goals, overcoming obstacles to success and how to move forward after setbacks or failures, etc)

• Live Your Dream ...assisting women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects ...along with many local projects such as renovating domestic violence shelters and providing mammograms to low-income women, to sponsoring self-esteem workshops for teenage girls.
